Jello play dough

Looks good enough to eat right?? Well, that's because it IS edible!!

This is a recipe for edible play dough, although I wouldn't recommend eating it, my guess is it tastes pretty disgusting.

Very simple recipe to follow:

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 package (lg) of jello in your preferred flavor
2 T oil
2 t cream of tarter
1 cup water

I was making a batch for preschool so I doubled it and it came out just fine.

Mix all ingredients in a large pot and place on the stove over medium high heat and stir until it resembles THICK mashed potatoes. It's about 10-15 minutes depending on the temp.

You will think that your arms are going to fall off, and then it will finally clump all together and you think to yourself, "oh, mashed potatoes!" I used a whisk at first just to make sure the flour and stuff was all thoroughly mixed together and then when it got really thick but not quite done I switched to a large spoon.

Put some flour on your counter top (or wherever you can to knead) and scoop the play dough out onto the flour and let cool pretty much completely. Or until you can stand touching and working with it.

When ready, put some flour on your hands and start kneading until you have reached a workable and playable dough. Yes, thats right, as if the 10 minutes cooling was actually long enough to let you arms rest......or not.

Remember that play dough is a little sticky and will always leave some residue on your hands.

Finally......... Let the little people enjoy!!

Oh and, don't eat it......

Thanks for visiting!!!
