Witch Finger Halloween Snacks (for all your party needs)

Halloween Classroom Healthy Snacks

Ok, It's almost halloween again and I really just LOVED this post, so I wanted to share it with you all again!  They were super fun to make and really didn't take all that long.  I'm totally going to make them again for class treats this year!  So, without further ado, here they are!

It is finally halloween!  Are we ready for this?  NO!  But it is here anyway, what are you going to do, right?

So Charly is having a pumpkin carving party at school but it was requested that we not bring sweet snacks.  After some searching and experimenting I finally came up with these little witch fingers to bring for the kiddo's.  I thought they turned out pretty stinkin' cute and just incase you need ideas too, here they are.

Healthy Halloween Witch Fingers

Here is what you will need:

string cheese (I wanted to make about 20 so I needed 10 cheese sticks)
a paring knife
some sparkle gel frosting
a clean paint brush

Now take your cheese sticks and cut them in half...

ok, time to start cutting in your knuckles.

I promise, this really takes less time than you think.  I had 20 fingers done in less than 10 minutes.

Next slice a small portion off the top where you want the fingernail to be.

And finally it is time to start painting them. Place a small amount of gel in the fingernail space and paint it on where you want.

And done, see, I think the kids in class are going to get a kick out of them.  And they are healthy.  You don't have to feel bad about what you are feeding them in the middle of the day.  They are going to get plenty of candy, like they really need it in the middle of the day too!

And there you have it.  They really are not all that time consuming and turned out super cute!  And once again, your little one will thing you are awesome, amazing, Super Mom!

Monster Pencils for Halloween

Halloween Monster Pencils

I thought these would be cute to add to the mummy cans (along with some candy of course!)

I got this fabulous idea here from The 36th Avenue.  If you have never been there you just have to go, it is a fabulous site!

We may as well start, I made enough pencils to pass out in both girls classes in about an hour.

Here, all you are going to need is:

pencils
pompoms
google eyes
and hot glue

Place some glue on the end of the pencil (if you want to remove the eraser you can but I didn't find it necessary.)  It was however my daughters favorite part.

Oops, blurry picture, sorry...

place your pompom...

glue your google eye on...

And done....  see, almost too easy!

How fun, right?  I think the kids are going to love them.  And the candy of course...

Mad Hatter Treats

Mad Hatter Cookie Treats

This was one of lil' sis's brilliant ideas and I was so excited about it! I'm telling you, I don't know where she comes up with these ideas sometimes!!  Seriously, look at these little beauties, still in awe I guess.

Any who, All you are going to need is:

vanilla cookies

chocolate for dipping

large marshmallows (oops, didn't get a picture of those.  Why didn't I take a pic of them all together?)

and Andy's mints

Dip your vanilla cookies and marshmallows in chocolate

and place the marshmallow on top of the cookie.

cut your mints into thirds on angle. (you want it to look like the card in the hatter's hat.)
Place a piece of mint on the brim of the hat and wait for them to dry.

after they have dried you can pipe some white frosting around the brim to look like a ribbon and you are done! I thought they turned out so cute. And Perfect for our party! At some point I am going to actually post about how the party really went. I'll get there, eventually, I promise...

But at any rate, didn't these turn out FABBBBUUULOUSSSSS!

Under the Sea Birthday Party and a Sand Castile Cake

Under the Sea Party and a Sand Castile Cake

So, I know it has been a couple months since Soph's birthday but I am finally getting to posting about her party.  So, without further ado...

This year she picked an under the sea theme. I was so excited to plan this party, and I had so, so, soooo much fun putting it together!

Cake, blue 'Sea-Water' Lemonade, Ocean jello with fish, strawberries and watermelon (just becasue they are her favorite), and chocolate dipped pretzels.

Here is the cake I made!  I'll give directions shortly...

Isn't it soooooo cute,     I LOVED how it turned out!

Ok, I just made a few random shapes (I made an 8x8 square, and a few half circles.)

After they were cooled I frosted them and sprinkled with graham cracker crumbs.  (RIGHT, graham cracker crumbs..  I thought it was genius!)

And finally, for the 'bubbles' I used marshmallows.  I rolled them in my wet hands and then in sprinkles.  WHAT?!?  Seriously, I loved this cake.

Here's a close up of the jello,

and pretzels.
And how can you go wrong with chocolate dipped pretzels.  Sweet and salty, right?!?  Amazing!

And, as always, we have frosting and plain cupcakes so the kids can decorate their own.  It is always a popular activity.

And you have to have all the fixin's...

For decorations, I stuck with blue and white tulle...

balloons, streamers, bunting...

And a little sign out front for the guests.

I seriously loved this party.  It was so much fun.

Do you have a favorite party you have planned?
