4th of July Parade

What the 4th of July means to me...

Yesterday the girls went to summer preschool and Chalry came home and said, 'We learned about the 4th of July today.  It is July's birthday!'

And as much as I loved hearing her interpretation of what the 4th meant to her, I did let her know that it is in fact sort of our countries birthday, not just the month of July...

And then I was corrected again by Soph, 'We didn't learn anything, mom, we just painted!'

And all I thought was, if that sums up the difference in their academic careers, we are in for a real treat...

4th of July Parade

Happy 4th everyone!

We started out the day with the parade!  How lovely a parade is when you are 3 and 5!

They loved the baton girls!  And waving at everyone was super fun!

But it was all really great...

They had flags to wave at the beginning but I ended up having to hold them because they needed free hands to collect candy!

Sometimes it got a little loud...

And we had to check if it was still loud...

But in the end it was a really great Parade...

Thanks to our troops and all service members for all you do!  You have some mighty big shoes to fill and you live up to it every day.

Happy 4th of July,
-Sarah
