Gathering firewood - a family afair

Family Work Day... And They Loved It!  

The weather is turning colder and it is time to start thinking about turning on the heat or firing up the wood stove. I don't know what it is about a fire, but just seeing t makes you feel all warm and cozy.

True, it's a mess and a lot of work but we have found it can be a really fun family day too!  

We needed to unload the wood from the back of the truck, and it probably took much longer than if we would abbé just done it ourselves but the kids had a blast helping. 

They helped fill the wheelbarrow, 

unload it into piles...

Then they got a ride back to the truck. 

I really was a great family activity, and how long are they going to want to help wih this kind of stuff, right?

I'll take it while I can.
