Homemade Mod Podge
So this is all over the Internet and Pinterest right now so I just had to try it. I thought I had better know how it measures up to the real stuff.
All I did was mix one bottle of glue with about 1/2 cup of water.
I found that it works fabulously! I really can't complain about the outcome. It bonded like the real stuff, sealed like it, and even smelled like it. I think the consistency is a bit thinner but that is easily remedied.
What a great idea. Whoever discovered this in their basement is a GENIUS! I could just kiss them!
It did turn out glossy so if you are looking for a matte finish you would have to buy the stuff in store. They have sooooooo many different types of Mod Podge that I think I would still buy the specialty stuff for particular projects but just for craft bonding and sealing this works like a million bucks!
